So You Blog?!

I've always dreamed of the day that I'd host elegant and well planned dinner parties.  As of now, the only part of that that's a reality is dinner, itself.  As a self-proclaimed foodie and freelance writer, I started Eats.Wine.Coffee blog as way to discuss dining and wine establishments I've visited and want to visit in the DC, Virginia, Maryland and other locations I travel to, in addition to, the host of concepts that surround each topic.  I can't tell you how many times I've gone to dinner with friends, and we've had hours long discussion about various foodie, wino or coffee addict topics.

So I decided to make that vision a reality and combine my passions for creative and free-style writing, analytics, travel, food, wine and coffee in one public venue. Since I spend a lot of time eating out, cooking, drinking coffee and wine what better way to meld those worlds than a blog site. Inevitably, this blog is my way of continuing to learn and grow.

My Reason for Blogging
Writing, especially creative and free-style, has always been my favorite way of communicating. Recently, I had a run in with a restaurant, and I planned on blasting them a new one in my personal journal.  Yes, I actually keep a hand-written journal.  Well, the day was already long and the night late so I slept on the issue.  That next day, obviously, I was less irked by the encounter, but I did wish I had some casual place I could publically criticize this restaurant.  Like, a place I controlled, and that was the 6.7mb brain child that spurred this blog.  After thinking about it and youtubing the level of effort, I realized a blog would allow me to combine several of my passions. I get to share my reviews, no matter how unconventional, and levy my “enthusiasm” for making recommendations (clears throat). Well, I am southern and an analyst by profession so if anything, I have an opinion.  Plus, the opportunity to dine and wine at authentically local venues has always been alluring to me.  I mean, I was already doing it.  My closest friends and I really enjoy traveling and ferreting out local eateries, so this blog also gives me the chance to chronicle our foodie experiences.

I am transitioning my blog and the content from plus.google.com/+EatsWineCoffeeNow to my own domain. This gives me more long-term flexibility and control over the blog, the content and a better ability to manage growth. Blogging is just one of my hobbies and it allows me to leverage my inner strength, the power of words.
